Silveria Jacobs chair of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Tuesday, March 24 took the decision to no longer allow vessels in the Simpson Bay Lagoon to continue to conduct fuel bunkering and provisioning activities as of midnight Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

 The aforementioned can only take place where the vessel is already docked at a facility that provides such at a marina or docking location.

 It was brought to the attention of the EOC on Tuesday that procedures were not being followed in accordance to the directives that were stated before in order to protect the external borders of the country.

PHILIPSBURG (DCOMM):--- Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs said on Sunday that the country has two confirmed positive cases of coronavirus COVID-19, and both are in mandatory self-isolation at home and are recovering.

The first confirmed positive case came via the UK-Miami to the island and the second was a student returning from New York.

The Collective Prevention Services (CPS) over the weekend collected forms that were filled in by incoming passengers with residency on Sint Maarten, and an overview of the information was provided to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Monday.

These were the last flights to bring Sint Maarten residents back home before the closure of the countrys airspace on Sunday midnight for incoming passengers.

These persons had to register with CPS and as such have done so.

Robbers Taking Advantage Of Lockdown Due To Covid- 19.

Even though residents are asked to stay at home due to the spread of COVID-19 there is an increase of armed robberies, vehicular break-ins and a broad daylight robbery that led to the death of a man on Sunday.
While Police is yet to release any information on the broad daylight murder and the armed robbery which took place on Saturday on Pondfill Road at a Chinese Supermarket it is clear that much more has to be done to ensure safety and security of the people during the worldwide pandemic COVID-19.
